Thor Duct® Fire Ductwork is suitable for applications where Integrity (E) is required for period of up to 120 minutes. For Insulation (I) requirements protection is also provided using the tested insulation package for periods up to 120 minutes. Thor Duct® is ideal for use in a pressurisation system, and where the use of fire dampers is not a viable option. Thor Duct® will maintain the compartmentation rating that fire dampers would otherwise provide.
Thor Duct® is tested to EN1366-1, horizontal and vertical, fire types A and B, classified EN13501-3, product standard prEN15871. Thor Duct® has also tested to EN1366-1 under the standard EN15882-1, allowing for a maximum size of 2500x1250 mm.
All Thor Duct® products are correctly tested and compliant across all European codes. If you would like an inhouse CPD, please contact us.
Passive ducts, specified as fire ducts, are tested to EN1366-1. Thor Duct® Fire Ductwork meets all the current regulations and is the most suitable choice. Thor Duct® Fire Ductwork has been tested with insulation, and is classified to standard EN13501-3.
Where fire resisting ductwork is required, we recommend that both the (E) Integrity and (I) Insulation performance of a fire compartment barrier are maintained.
Thor Duct® is suitable for use in protected lobbies and escape routes meeting the requirements of BS9999:2017

Manufacturing Standards
Both the product and the insulation have been tested as a system in accordance with test standards which includes access doors, silencers and bracketry.
All tests were conducted in EOTA approved laboratories, and each licensed manufacturing location has a factory production control (FPC) in placed to ensure exacting standards of manufacture.
Installation Standards
You can be 100% sure that your installation has been properly managed and is fit for purpose when called upon in the event of a fire.
Thor Duct® has been tested to the latest EN standards and as required by law, provides CE marking on products where a harmonised standard exists.
Whilst Thor Duct® makes every effort to reflect the industry wide understanding of fire resisting duct standards, we do not suggest replacing a thorough research of CEN documents with our Blog posts. We make every effort to be accurate and true, and, as the passive fire protection industry experience and knowledge grows, we may update our guidance to reflect this. The design, selection, and supervision of fire strategies must always be managed by qualified Fire Engineers.
